U.S. Bank does not publish a payoff request fax number

What to include in your U.S. Bank request

  • U.S. Bank mortgage account number
  • Property address on the loan
  • Borrower name(s) as they appear on the mortgage
  • Good-through / payoff date requested
  • Delivery choice: text, email, PDF download, mail, or fax to the number on file

Turnaround

Digital delivery (download, text, or email) is near-instant; mailed statements take about 5–7 days.

How U.S. Bank payoff requests work

U.S. Bank’s payoff process is built around self-service. The fastest route is online banking or the mobile app: select your mortgage account, choose "Request payoff quote," and pick the exact payoff-through date. You can then have the statement delivered digitally — as a text, to up to two email addresses, or as a PDF download.

If you would rather call, U.S. Bank home loans customer service is 800-365-7772, open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Central. A paper statement can be mailed (about five to seven days) or faxed to the number already on your account.

A key U.S. Bank distinction: there is no fax number for submitting a payoff request. U.S. Bank delivers the statement to you, and it can fax that finished statement to the number on file (making up to three attempts if the first fails). So if you want your statement by fax, the request still starts online or by phone — you cannot fax a request in. Because of that, we do not show a "fax your request" widget on this page.

Third-party & escrow requests

U.S. Bank fulfills payoff requests to the borrower and delivers to the contact information on file, so the simplest path for a closing is for the borrower to request the quote online and download or forward the PDF. If a third party needs to receive it directly, the borrower must authorize U.S. Bank to release information; U.S. Bank can then fax the completed statement to a number on file (it makes up to three attempts).

What a U.S. Bank payoff statement includes

  • Unpaid principal balance
  • All calculated interest up to the selected payoff-through date
  • Any outstanding fees and escrow treatment
  • Wire transfer or check payment instructions
  • The specific date the quote is good through

The federal 7-business-day rule

Under federal law (12 C.F.R. § 1026.36(c)(3)), servicers of closed-end consumer mortgages must generally provide an accurate payoff statement within seven business days of receiving a written request from the borrower or a person acting on the borrower’s behalf. Reasonable exceptions apply (for example, loans in bankruptcy or foreclosure), so submitting your request in writing and keeping your fax confirmation is the best way to start the clock.
