How United Wholesale Mortgage payoff requests work
United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) services loans through the myuwmloan.com portal, and that portal is the fastest place to request a payoff quote. Signing in lets you pick a delivery timeframe and receive the statement without waiting on hold. Note that UWM may charge an expedited delivery fee of up to $5 for a quote sent via the web.
If you prefer not to log in, UWM’s automated payoff line is 888-464-2432, and you can also open a Message Center ticket from inside your account. For a mailed request, write to UWM, Attn: Payoff Department, 8950 Cypress Waters Blvd., Suite 100, Coppell, TX 75019, and include your loan number, property address, and current contact details.
UWM does not publish a payoff-request fax number. Some third-party sites list a UWM fax (for example, a mortgage-assistance document fax), but that is not a payoff channel, so we do not present it as one. For closings, the borrower authorizes the title or escrow agent online or via UWM’s Third Party Authorization form, and the authorized agent then requests the payoff through UWM’s official channels.

UWM authorized representatives request payoffs after the borrower authorizes them online or with UWM’s Third Party Authorization form. Once authorized, the representative can request the quote through UWM’s channels. Because there is no payoff fax, do not attempt to fax a cold request — use the authorized online or phone path instead.

The federal 7-business-day rule
Under federal law (12 C.F.R. § 1026.36(c)(3)), servicers of closed-end consumer mortgages must generally provide an accurate payoff statement within seven business days of receiving a written request from the borrower or a person acting on the borrower’s behalf. Reasonable exceptions apply (for example, loans in bankruptcy or foreclosure), so submitting your request in writing and keeping your fax confirmation is the best way to start the clock.
